Monday: WG: Students will explore the physical region of the United States/Canada, the settlement patterns of the region, the common human patterns of the region, and cultural diffusion to and from the region. WH: Students understand how early civilizations developed from 8000 BC to 500 BC.
Tuesday: WG: Students will examine the US/Canada region, being characterized by a variety of regions, including physical geographic regions, multiple political divisions, and large urban centers. WH: Students will summarize the fundamental ideas and institutions of Western civilizations that originated in Greece and Rome.
Wednesday: WG: Continue with Tuesday’s objective. WH: Students will examine the major political, religious/philosophical, and cultural influences of Assyria, Persia, Babylon, Greece, and Rome.
Thursday: WG: Students will examine the cultures of the United States, Canada,and 2 other countries on the immigration list. WH: Students will evaluate the 8 Reasons Why Rome Fell”
Friday: WG: Students will evaluate the spread of cultural traits to find examples of cultural convergence and divergence such as the spread of democratic ideas, language, foods, technology, or global sports. WH: Students will complete and review the Roman Empire questions and watch the video on the fall of the Roman Empire.
